A few years ago I read this Sunday Times article about how in golf, one lapse of concentration can be the difference between winning and losing.

And how both internal chatter and social media can interfere with concentration.

In other words, the ability to focus is key…

That’s where Rory McIlroy’s recent win at the Masters was instructive.

McIlroy famously became a fan of Cal Newport, whose work in the area of #focus is unmatched (McIlroy has read both ‘Deep Work’ and ‘Digital Minimalism’).

He has also read ‘Essentialism’, another classic on the importance of focusing on what matters most.

Conclusion: those that improve their focus tend to thrive…and win.
