This study tracked people who followed a structured wind-down which increased total sleep time by 21 minutes.
The structure involved a recommendation of “reserving 1 hour for unwinding before bedtime” and a broader wind-down routine including sleep scheduling, stimulus control, restriction of time in bed, cognitive strategies, sleep hygiene and relapse prevention.
